about

This album is a compilation of official remixes I did for a number of bands and artists, including Pitch Black, Banco de Gaia, and more. All of the tracks have appeared on the bands' own releases, except track 9, which is previously unreleased (and exclusive to this compilation!) and track 4, which has only just been made available for streaming.

it's not everyday, everyday that you get to work with two 80s pop stars who you watched years ago on Top of the Pops. In my case, it's Tom Bailey (Thompson Twins, now International Observer) and Michael Harding (1000 Mexicans, now Animat). This album includes official remixes that I was asked to do by and for them both. Popcorn Slavery for the former, and Deep Space Lament, the latter. Oh, and there are two remixes for Khartomb who were on the John Peel Sessions on Radio 1.

Second, it's not everyday, everyday that the first time you do a remix for someone, that it gets played on rotation on a Drivetime radio show in New Zealand.  This was Rude Mechanical mistrust remix, for Pitch Black, and it also made the top 30 airplay charts.

Why "Everyday, Everyday..." for the title?
Listen to "Rude Mechanicals mistrust remix"!!!

It was an absolutely pleasure working on these tracks, and I'll be forever grateful to the bands for letting me loose on their songs!

If you like these remixes, please take the time to listen to the original songs, and check out the bands themselves.

about

mistrust Bolton

I’m Tim Blackburn, musician and remixer from the UK. I’ve gone back to my original synthpop roots, after having worked with Tom Bailey (Thompson Twins) on a remix of his track Popcorn Slavery (under his International Observer guise) and remixed other artists and bands, including Michael Harding (ex-1000 Mexicans) and Banco de Gaia. ... more
